WHY AM I BEING CONTACTED?

If you have been contacted by our agency, it is because we have received a potential claim that links you to a debt placed within our offices that we have been assigned to collect.

IS THIS A SCAM?

Advantage Recovery Group, Inc is a professional debt collection agency. If we are contacting you

regarding a debt, it is not a scam! We are local company, following all FDCPA & HIPAA guidelines.

I DO NOT RECOGNIZE THIS DEBT.

You may not recognize the actual doctor, doctors office or billing name that has placed the claim. Possibly the office or doctor is under a group name, the original creditor may have possibly gone through a name change or the business has been acquired by a larger company. The debt is still legitimate. If you insist the debt is not yours, you have questions or would like to dispute your account, please contact us at (888) 516-1988. I DO OWE THE DEBT BUT CANNOT PAY THE FULL BALANCE AT ONCE.

Payment plans are a great option that will assist your account from being reported to the credit bureaus. Approved and automated payment plans are scheduled monthly, preferably on the same day each month. You will receive an e-mail receipt upon setting up the automated payment plan as well as a payment receipt each month on the day that you choose for your payment date. Depending on the balance of your account, a down payment may be required for a payment plan. For accounts that have been reported to the credit bureaus the debt will be recalled and reported as paid in full, once the final payment has been received and posted.

I CANNOT PAY THIS DEBT.

We are not asking that you pay the account in full if you are not financially able to do so. Contact our offices so that a representative can set up a fair payment plan that is customizable to fit your budget.

I HAVE ALREADY PAID THIS DEBT TO THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR.

If this debt has been assigned to a debt collection agency there must have been a problem with the original payment, an insurance payment or there may be a balance left owing. If you feel you have previously paid this account, you will need to provide our agency “PROOF OF PAYMENT”. This will verify the debt has been previously paid. Verify who was paid, the date and the amount paid. We will then forward these documents to the original creditor so that we may assist in closing your paid account.

I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY SERVICES.

If you do not recall the debt and feel you did not receive any services from the company placing the claim, we will contact their office to request validation. Per the FDCPA, The original creditor must provide proof that they have provided you services or a product on the date of service billed. Once validation has been returned by the creditor and forwarded to you we will continue with collection activity and reporting the account to the credit bureaus, if the account has not yet been resolved.

I RETURNED THE PRODUCT.

You will be required to provide proof that a product was returned as well as pay any balance owing 

to resolve your account. We will then contact the original creditor to assist in closing your account.

THIS IS NOT MY DEBT.

We skip trace all accounts prior to contacting an account holder. We verify that the individual we are pursuing is actually you before contact is made.  However, mistakes do happen and if you insist the account is not yours, we will contact the original creditor to request validation. Per the FDCPA, The original creditor must provide proof that you were provided the services or product. Once validation has been returned by the creditor and forwarded to you, we will continue with further collection activity and reporting the account to the credit bureaus if the account has not yet been resolved.

WHAT IS THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS?

The Florida’s statute of limitations varies for different types of debts. Written contracts such as personal loans, the statute of limitations is five years. For other debts, the statute is shorter. Oral contracts and revolving accounts such as credit cards have a statute of limitations of four years. 

IF I DO OWE A DEBT. DO I HAVE TO PAY A COLLECTION AGENCY?

If you have a financial responsibility to a creditor, it is your responsibility to resolve it. There are various negative consequences for ignoring or choosing not to pay a debt that been placed with a third-party debt collection agency. The debt can impact your credit score and If ignored long enough, on qualified accounts the most productive recovery solution may be seeking litigation.

I HAVE A LIEN ON MY PROPERTY. HOW DO I GET THE LIEN RELEASED?

Contact our offices to discuss your payoff amount. If you are in escrow, have your title company contact us. Payoff requests will be returned within 24-hrs. Releases will begin after payment in full.
